Hard to believe but our beautiful ZOE (pronounced ZO) is back in our care! The home she went to had 2 cats and it turns out they don’t like dogs very much so our sweet girl came back to us. To refresh your memory…let us copy/paste our post from when she first arrived. πŸ™‚
As usual, ZOE has a story but much of it is unknown. She was found alone literally in the middle of nowhere. She was underweight and very scared (to the point where she would pee if approached too quickly). It was noticed quickly that ZOE didn’t walk normally and something was wrong with her back end.
Dr Strate at the Swan Valley Vet Clinic did xrays and was surprised at what he had seen! Poor ZOE had been in a terrible accident (possibly hit by vehicle?) where her hip/pelvis was caved right in. The injury healed incorrectly and cannot be repaired. We can’t even begin to imagine the pain this poor went thru during this injury!
However, yesterday isn’t today and so it’s time for our sweet ZOE to look forward at her wonderful future and not back and what had been that we cannot change.
ZOE loves all other dogs and cats. She wants to be everyone’s friend. She loves to run and play and doesn’t seem to be hindered by her old injury. The only issue is that sometimes she can get urine on herself as she doesn’t have the same stance when going to the bathroom. This doesn’t seem to be a major issue at all. πŸ™‚
ZOE will need to be indoors and not left to roam. She is short haired, possibly a shepherd/lab mix and is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. This girl is very gentle and affectionate and would make anyone a good companion. If interested in ZOE, please fill out an application from our website (svapl.ca) first!
