The “fun version”
Hi, my name is Milo. I am a 3 (ish) month old male puppy. No one knows my back story but everyone thinks I am a terrier cross because of my face and mannerisms. I am little, just 12.5 lbs – they say I will probably be a small/medium dog between 10-20 lbs when I am all grown up.
Right now I am staying with a foster lady and learning a lot! I can already sit and lay down. Because I am short I like to put my feet up on things to see but I guess that’s not polite so I’m learning to keep my feet to myself. I’m very observant and always watching what is going on so I have to have my naps in a crate to make sure I actually sleep! The crate is new for me so I don’t LOVE it but it does work really well to help me sleep. I have my own voice button to ask to go outside that I am learning to use. Sometimes I forget it’s there but I’m getting better about pushing it all by myself! Right now I still need to be let outside to potty once overnight but I’m slowly learning how to sleep soundly and making it a little longer every day.
I love toys. I love chasing and catching them, and tug. I am teething right now so sometimes I like to chew on soft toys for a while. I can run very fast. I love all kinds of food and am willing to learn to do tricks for treats. I like cuddles and attention. Sometimes praise and a pet is just as good as a treat to me! I would love to just hang out with you all day!
I like to play with other dogs. I have lots of energy so I would like a home where I can do my own thing without bothering an older dog, or a home with another dog who likes to play as much as me! My foster does not have cats so I don’t know if I like them. Maybe only if they like to play or are very confident cats who will let me know when they do not want to play. I have not been around kids while in foster but I’m young and could learn with you, especially if you have kids old enough to practice tricks with me. I really like to hang out with people so someone retired who is home all the time and would like a small friend would also be great! Because of my short little legs we could go on walks together without you feeling like you are being rushed around!
Here’s hoping someone is looking for a cute little man like me.

The “facts version”
Name: Milo
Sex: male
Breed: unknown. Suspected terrier mix.
Origin: unknown. Found wandering.
Age: approx 3 months old
Size: currently 12.5 lbs. Best guess he will be a small/medium dog at 20-30 lbs full grown.
Coat: unknown. Likely shorter.
Health: no concerns. He will be teething for the next several months.
Training
Toy Motivated: yes. Loves chasing, carrying, shaking, tugging, and chewing
Food motivated: yes! Loves all the food! Willing to work for kibble.
Crate trained: mostly! He’s new at this. Milo still fusses for 5-10 minutes but then will settle for several hours. He takes several crated naps daily as appropriate for his age.
House/potty trained: We’re about 50-60% through the process. Milo is learning how to ask to go outside using a button and is catching on well. At this time he needs to be let out once to the bathroom overnight.
Cue words Milo knows/is practicing: sit, lay down, stand up, leash on/off, come, up, off, go crate, outside, inside, collar
Handling: Milo can be picked up and handled all over. He is being taught words for his body parts to help him predict handling. He is daily practicing handling of his feet and teeth as he is less confident with those areas compared to others.
How does Milo feel about:
Adults (both men and women): yes! He will bark at new strangers that enter the house but quickly becomes friends.
Kids: unknown but no concerns beyond those of any teething puppy.
Dogs: Milo loves to play with other dogs. Sometimes he wants to play so much his foster dog sibling needs a break. He would probably irritate an old dog. He sometimes barks at other dogs when first meeting but then wants to play, though he will be cautious with them if they say they Do Not want to play.
Cats: unknown. Due to his love of chasing things and frequent play with foster sibling, a home with no cats or one that can provide their confident cat with avenues to avoid a dog might be preferred.
