GINNY (#1284) was found in a box with her sister ELLIS in November 2025. Unclaimed, they were taken into separate foster homes. GINNY is up to date on vaccines and scheduled to be spayed in July. She is currently under 30lbs (and is the smaller and darker of the two sisters). DOB: July 2026.
From her foster mom:
Ginny is an absolute sweetheart and a wonderful little companion.
Her ideal forever family will be: -patient -affectionate -moderately to highly active -have other animals or human companions willing to play and spend lots of time with her She has been great with other dogs (big or small), cats (although she will chase them if they run), and kids (8+). She has the softest, most beautiful coat and loves to be brushed, she also loves to snuggle, gives nice kisses, and does the cutest little hops and spins when she’s excited. She is kennel trained and housebroken although the occasional accident may happen, and she has a tendency to piddle when she’s nervous.
Ginny does struggle with anxiety when it comes to new situations, changes to routines, or if she thinks she’s in trouble, so she needs someone who is able to remain calm, be patient with her, and give her lots of reassurance. She also has a sensitive stomach so it’s important to stay consistent with her diet. Ginny would make a wonderful addition to any home looking for a fun and loving companion that just wants to be the “goodest” girl for her people.
-she loves the snow and has never shown signs of being cold, even on the chilliest of days BUT she would be pretty miserable if she was left outside alone or locked in her kennel while people are around, she wants to be with her people more than anything.
-I would be leery to let her be off-leash other than in a fenced area. Her recall is pretty good but if she thinks she’s in any way in trouble she will cower and slink away, and good luck catching her, which is tough because her default mentality is, unsure -> I must be in trouble -> pee my pants as I flee

She also has a trigger about the words “come here” regardless of how happy/nice of a tone it’s said in -patience is definitely key with Ginny. She’s smart, but her anxiety is her own worst enemy. Things need to happen on Ginny time. Which can be anywhere from a few minutes, or in the case of going down the stairs to the basement, a month and a half
